October Fishing Rodeo Rules and Procedures

 

1.       Dates:  October 1st beginning at 5:00 A.M. through October 31st ending at 7:00 P.M.

2.       ALL fish are to be weighed in at one of the following marinas:  Orange Beach Marina, San Roc Cay Marina, Zeke’s Marina, Dauphin Island Marina, The Wharf:  Fish are to weighed from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. for Offshore boats and 10:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. for Inshore boats.

3.       IGFA Rules and Regulations will govern this tournament and will be a guideline for rules committee decisions.

4.       This is an all tackle category tournament.  Anglers may use any line class up to 130 lbs. 

5.       Single hook rigs must use circle hooks unless competing in the King Mackerel, Red Fish, or Speckled Trout Categories.  Two hook rigs may use straight hooks.

6.       Charter Boat Owners, captains, and deckhands are not eligible for any angler awards while on a charter.

7.       All anglers must present ticket at time of weigh-in.

8.       All boats must start and end trip through Alabama’s state waters, and not make landfall in between.

9.       All fish must be caught on rod and reel.

10.     All fish must be brought to the weigh station on the boat on which fish was caught.   

11.     All fish must be weighed in on the day caught, unless on a 2 day trip.  Anglers must have 2 tickets for 2-day tips.  No longer trips qualify. 

12.     In case of a tie in any category, the first fish weighed wins the prize.

13.     Any fish entered that places becomes property of the Orange Beach October Fishing Rodeo.

14.     All participants are subject to a polygraph examination.

15.     All fish are subject to being checked with a Toro Meter. 

16.     Any protests must be presented in writing to a tournament committee member within 24 hours of fish in question.  No protests will be accepted after 7:00 P.M. on October 31st, 2006.  Decision of the tournament rules committee is final. 

 

Any fish that has been deliberately altered to try and add weight will be disqualified.
